Getting Started
Welcome to Herp Tracker! This guide will help you set up your account and start tracking your reptiles.
1. Creating Your Account
- Download Herp Tracker from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android)
- Open the app and tap "Get Started"
- Choose to sign up with:
- Email and password
- Sign in with Google
- Sign in with Apple
- Complete your profile by adding your name
- You're ready to start tracking!
2. Adding Your First Animal
- From the home screen, tap "Add Animal" or the + button
- Select the species (e.g., Ball Python, Leopard Gecko)
- Enter your animal's details:
- Name - Give your pet a name
- Sex - Male, Female, or Unknown
- Birth/Hatch Date - When they were born (approximate is fine)
- Morph - Optional genetic information
- Photo - Add a picture of your pet
- Tap "Save" to add your animal
Tip: The free plan allows up to 3 animals. Upgrade to Keeper or Breeder for unlimited animals.
3. Logging Your First Feeding
- Select an animal from your list
- Tap "Log Feeding" or use Quick Log from the home screen
- Enter feeding details:
- Date - When the feeding occurred
- Food Type - Mouse, rat, insects, etc.
- Food Size - Pinky, fuzzy, adult, etc.
- Quantity - Number of feeders
- Accepted - Did they eat it?
- Tap "Save" to log the feeding
Quick Log Mode: Use the Quick Log feature on the home screen to log feedings in just 3 taps!
4. Setting Up Reminders
- Go to an animal's profile
- Tap "Reminders" or the bell icon
- Set up automatic reminders for:
- Feeding - Based on typical feeding schedule for the species
- Weight Check - Monthly weight monitoring
- UVB Bulb - 6-month replacement reminders
- Custom - Create your own reminder types
- Enable push notifications to receive alerts
